Double Standard In News Reporting?
Gw bingung dengan baca berita disini.
1. Article 1 - Teacher
Masih "Accused".
Anyway, that's not what matters.
Article kedua lanjutan: *well, actually ini artcile yang pertama kali keluar ... this one:
Terus, barusan nemu article ini
2. Article Pembanding - Rape Own Mother
Yang ini orang na sudah terbukti. "Convicted".
Bahkan, dituliskan di dalam article na: "She said the fact that the man, who cannot be named, had been raised by his father in Western Australia meant he did not have a normal mother-child bond."
Apakah karena: ""He is a talented athlete but his ability as a sportsman and employment opportunities have been affected by his problems with drugs and alcohol," she said."
Seriously, screw this bullcrap!!
Hey, I objected to article putting name and photo, not because she was my old friend. Nor because she was wearing a hijab. If another person is still at the stage of "accused" and waiting for trial, and his/her name everywhere in the media, and suddenly, court finds that s/he is innocent ... that's damaging character already. It will take a long time to clean up the name and the mess on the backtrail.
It does put some questions in my mind, what the hell is the media trying to do?
Why for 2nd article, where the person already convicted, why there's no mention of name, or put a photo of the guy there, to increase society awareness and becareful of that guy next time around. Different story if on article 1, the "accused" phase, moved to "convicted" phase. Or have a blanket standard: for accused, no photo and no name mention. For convicted, state name or initial, or whatever. Dont make things different... #$^(@((^
Heran ...
Sampah ...
